Meet Your Hosts

Bo Stanley Sea Sisters Retreat

Bo Stanley

Body Activist, Professional Surfer, Model

I have been surfing since I was 5 years old. I began competing at the age of 14 and went on to compete on the WQS (World Qualifying Series) of Surfing for Women. There, I finished in the top 12 before I went on to begin a passion I felt called to do: Promote size diversity, strength, self love and empowerment for girls and women. I have always believed in the power of surfing and athleticism as its where I have found my strength, my happiness, and learned to love my body - not for how it appears but for what it can do! I want to share this love and passion with other women in hopes that they too can find the beauty in their strong, capable bodies exactly as they come! We don’t need to change the size of our bodies in order to accomplish anything; we need to change the way we think about our bodies.

Therapist, Body Image and Eating Disorder Specialty

I am a licensed psychotherapist in both the states of California and Massachusetts.  I received Mind/Body Stress Reduction training from the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in 2010 and completed my Master's in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University in 2012. I love what I do and work with a variety of issues including people struggling with body image and eating disorders. I have been integrating my passion for traditional therapy with my belief in the effectiveness and empowerment of other healing arts such as surfing, yoga, indoor climbing, and breathwork and I am excited to support women who have struggled in the past to feel confident in themselves in this one day retreat.

Hayley Fedders

Surfer, Mom, Business Owner

I had wanted to start surfing a long time before I actually took the plunge. Fear and a sense of not belonging were some of the things that stopped me. It wasn't until my husband bought me lessons with an all women's surf school that I actually started. The idea of getting to experience and overcome some of the things that stopped me with a group of other women who were perhaps experiencing some of the same things was really appealing to me. And, immediately I was hooked. Being in the ocean with other women, facing challenges and overcoming fears was incredibly empowering. The lessons I have learned surfing carry through into my work as a business owner of a creative studio and as a mom of two active kiddos. I am excited to help other women feel the same empowerment that I have felt and to overcome any blocks standing in their way.
